Battleground Indian Country is a native-led, nationwide, 501c4 organization focused on outreach, education, GOTV and grassroots organizing within Indigenous communities.
2024 Priorities
Coordinate GOTV activities with Indian Country voters within the key battleground states of Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Nevada.
Support existing Native/Tribal organizations with funding resources to support ongoing ground activities.
Coordinate staffing for local voter engagement activities during the last two weeks of the 2024 election cycle.
Battleground Indian Country (BGIC) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization working to promote social welfare within the meaning of section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, including but not limited to: (1) protecting the rights of Indigenous tribal members to vote; (2) supporting programs, initiatives and activities that make positive changes for the health and welfare of Indigenous tribal members and their communities; and (3) providing outreach and educational program, resources, and support to increase tribal civic engagement for all Native communities within Indian Country. Contributions to section 501(c)(4) organizations are not deductible as charitable contributions on the donor’s federal income tax return. They may be deductible as business expenses if ordinary and necessary in the conduct of the taxpayer’s business.
